The village of Sydoriv located next to Gusyatin , not far from the road to Chortkiv. There are two extremely interesting architectural monuments here.

The first written mention of Sidorov dates back to 1398. In 1547, through the efforts of Yakub Potocki, Sydoriv received the status of a city.

In 1640, Hetman Marcin Kalinowski built a stone castle on an island formed by the Sukhodol and Slobodka rivers. In 1672 the castle was taken by the Turks, in 1673 it was recaptured by the troops of the Commonwealth. For three years Jan Samuil Khzhanovsky was commandant here with his wife Anna, who later distinguished herself in the defense of the Terebovlya castle in 1676.

Later, the castle was rebuilt by another representative of the Kalinowski family - Kamenets castellan Marcin Kalinowski, who allocated funds for the construction of a church of unusual architecture here. The church is absolutely unique: in plan it looks like the coat of arms of the Kalinowski family - an arrow in the center and 2 stars on the sides.

In the beginning. 19th century the castle was bought by Ignatius Peigert. Thus, Sydoriv passed to the Peigert family, to which he belonged until 1941.
There is no information about the Jewish community of Sidorov, but the Jewish cemetery near the village says that the Jews lived here.
