Rzhavyntsi (Ukr. Ржавинці), known since 1441. Since 1812 in Khotyn district of Bessarabia province of Russian Empire, in 1918 - 1940 as part of the Kingdom of Romania, in 1940 - 91 - as part of the Ukrainian SSR.
In 1897, 369 Jews lived in Rzhavyntsi (17%),
In 1910 - 66 Jews.
There was a Jewish prayer house, which mentioned in 1861 and 1886.
In 1885, a furniture factory in Rzhavyntsi belonged to a Jew.
After the occupation by the Romanian troops in Rzhavyntsi in July 1941, 9 Jews were killed.
