Kostyntsi (ukr. Костинці), known since 1608. In the 16-18 centuries in Moldavian principality. In the 19 - beggining of the 20 centuries - in the province of Bukovina as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 1918-40 - as part of Romania, in 1940-91 - as part of Ukrainian SSR.
In 1880, 296 Jews (12.9%) lived in Kostyntsi,
in 1930 - 274 (12.1%),
in 1941 - 450 Jews.
Jews lived in Kostyntsi from the end of the 19th century. The main employment is fruit trade, agriculture.
There were 3 synagogues, mikva, 3 heders in Kostyntsi.
In the 1920-30s there were branches of various Jewish parties and organizations.
After the occupation of the village by Romanian troops at the end of June 1941, Jews (c. 420 people) were gathered in the school building and shot after 3 days. The Jews discovered in the vicinity were sent in October 1941 to Transnistria.
