Chervone

Krasnoye (ukr. Chervone), town of Podolsk province - a place Yampolsky district of Podolia. The 1847 census "Krasn. Heb. society "consisted of 1.747 shower; in 1897 in K. tains. 2.844, of which 2.590 Heb. In 1895 there were four prayer houses and a synagogue. In 1910, there was a Talmud Torah.

         July 17, 1941 in Krasnoye Fascists entered. The town fell into the Transnistria Romanian zone of occupation. In October, there were only Krasnoye Jewish artisans and their families, the rest was stolen in Tyvrov. The remaining resettled in the ghetto, under which one street in the center of the village was occupied. In 1942, here we are driven Jews deported from Bukovina and Bessarabia.

Jews have lived in Krasnoye since 1605. In 1651 It was a remarkable event - the Polish troops defeated the Hetman Kalinowski Cossack detachment Daniel accident, comrade Khmelnitsky, organized the massacres of Jews in all occupied cities. Nechay himself was killed during this battle.
